Matt’s Motorcycle Hits Adina’s Car

A number of months ago, I had a new front tire put on my motorcycle. Almost immediately I had problems with a slow leak. After re-inflating it one time, the problem seemed to be solved. We chalked it up to a bad seal that seated itself properly during the deflation and inflation process.

It’s been a couple of months since the tire had its last problem, but the last couple of days it has been deflating in a matter of hours. Adina had to take the pump to work for me to pump up my tire so I could get the bike home last night.

When parking it last night, I turned the handlebars to the right instead of the normal left. Some people do this all the time, and it set more evenly on the tire that way. I figured it would have less risk of damaging the tire further that way.

Little did I know that when the tire was sufficiently deflated, the motorcycle would fall over. It was sufficiently close to the car that the car now has a small dent in the side, and the motorcycle is missing a mirror.

Of course Adina didn’t want to pick it up, so one of my coworkers was kind enough to drive me home so I could do it. Adina had the fun task of cleaning gas and antifreeze from the floor of the garage.

Yeah. It wouldn’t have got a flat tire because it would have been in the shop the whole time.

There’s not much to show. We picked up the motorcycle before taking a picture, and the damage to the car isn’t very exciting.
