Pickaxe
Adina has been wanting to plant a tree in the back yard for some time, and I’ve been fighting it for a couple of reasons:
Shaving
Over the past few months, I’ve been becoming less and less satisfied with the quality of shave provided by my electric razor. The first thing I considered was buying a different type of razor (one that uses foils instead of a rotary version). That was a pretty heavy investment, however, especially since I wanted one that was self cleaning and didn’t have a NiCad battery.
9,000 Miles
I’ve now come to the point where I’ve put almost 9,000 miles on one or the other of the motorcycles I’ve had. What’s interesting is that, up until very recently, I couldn’t see myself ever becoming as comfortable riding a motorcycle as I do now.In fact, I’ve put so many more miles of motorcycle driving in over the past couple of years than I have car driving that I actually feel more comfortable riding a motorcycle than driving a car. I mean comfortable not in the “creature comforts” sense there’s nothing comfortable about sitting at a stop light on a motorcycle in 108? temperatures but in the sense of confidence. While I still have a way to go (I still find it difficult to turn sharply at very low speeds), I am actually having fun riding now. There is one little problem though: the horn. It would be nice if people could actually hear me when I honk at them because they are changing lanes into my lane. I need to take the bike in for an oil change soon, so maybe I’ll have them add the 106db air horns I’ve had my eye on while the bike’s in the shop.
Bad Waitress
So, I’m at this little Italian restaurant around the corner from my hotel. I’ve been here for almost 45 minutes and haven’t got beyond my drink and appetizer. I don’t want a meal, but I do want to see a desert menu. After sitting here for a little while, the guy who seated me came back and asked if he could get me my drink. So I ordered a beer, and it wasn’t until after he brought me the beer that my waitress finally showed up. I ordered my calamari, and indicated that I might want something else later.
