Cheeseburger Club
The cafeteria at work sometimes makes this incredible sandwich they call the cheeseburger club. Today I tried my hand at making my own. It's very tasty.
Some interesting facts about beer
Guinness, for all its fame, color, and bitterness, is actually a very watery beer. When I drink Guinness, I drink it faster than pretty much any other beer because it's practically like drinking bitter water. If I really want a dark beer with full body, I'll go with something like a Black Butte porter or the Tatonka Stout from BJs (the latter of which has all the bitterness you'd need, but is also very full bodied and sweet at the same time).
The Supreme Vice?
I came across this quote from C.S. Lewis shortly after our pastor addressed this issue in Sunday school. It seems that many Christians hold sexual sin up as much more horrible than the average pet sin. The problem with this view is that Christ viewed sins of the heart as the real problem. While sexual sin can have significant physical consequences (and I think this is part of what has made it rise to this status in our minds), sins of the heart are much more harmful to the soul.
It’s Not a “Book of Virtues”
We are studying the book of Judges in Sunday school. We're only in the introductory stages of the study, but we've already covered some excellent things. The study materials we're using come from Tim Keller at Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York City. They publish a lot of excellent materials, and this is no exception.
