Israeli settler kills 4 aboard bus in Arab town

SHFARAM, Israel (Reuters) - A soldier from a Jewish settlement shot dead four people on a bus in an Israeli Arab town on Thursday in what Prime Minister Ariel Sharon called an attack by a “bloodthirsty terrorist” ahead of a Gaza pullout.

Israel is trying to do the right thing for peace by pulling out of the Gaza strip, but there are many settlers who don’t want this to happen. It is understandable that they don’t want to give up their homes, but they can’t expect the Palestinians to do all the giving.

This settler even went so far as to murder some Israeli Arabs on a bus. The good news is that, rather than let him go any further, townspeople in the area swarmed the bus and beat the guy to death. I don’t necessarily think they should have gone quite that far, but he got what he deserved anyway.(Via International.)

WHAT? As Christians, aren’t we supposed to support Israel, no matter what they do?

Oh, that’s right - NO! Maybe we should rethink this whole Zionism thing.

“Even if” is not even an option, though. Shall we start discussing a-millenialism on Celestial? I’ll try to get my pastor to post something. =)

Yeah. Even if pre-millenial dispensationalist *were* right, and God is going to bring back physical Israel, he would do it after the supposed rapture and tribulation and such. So there is no current biblical basis for saying Israel ought to have the land, no matter what side you come down on.

My point, as I’m sure you realized, is not that dispensational thought is even remotely correct, but that the dispensationalists who try to support everything Israel does are not even being consistent with their own (bad) theology.

I must also say that, although Israel is making steps in the peace process, they are actually strengthening their other settlements, whose populations continue to grow.
