Nissan Thermos Vacuum Bottle

Nissan Thermosmore product info

I’ve had a cheap ripoff vacuum insulated stainless steel bottle since sometime during my college years. It holds 32 ounces or so, and insulates pretty well. The main problem with this bottle was the push-button style lid. After only a few months, it started to come apart easily, and would easily get gunked up inside. Not only was it nearly impossible to clean, the lid would leak and dribble. It was nearly impossible to stop pouring without dribbling down the side of the bottle.

I got so fed up with this item, that I shoved it in the back of the pantry and only used my travel mug for awhile. Travel mugs have this bad little habit of affecting the taste of my coffee because the plastic lids are nearly impossible to get clean.

After deciding I needed something more than a travel mug again, I dug the old thermos out of the closet. After a couple of days of use, I was sorely disappointed. It dribbled everywhere, and the lid would stay together, even after much cleaning and liberal application of super glue.

That’s when I purchased the classing Nissan Thermos Briefcase Bottle. The 34 oz model is large enough to hold an entire french press worth of coffee, and the bottle fits comfortably in my backpack (a necessity when riding the motorcycle). The vacuum insulated double-wall stainless steal keeps beverages at a drinking temperature well beyond 8 hours! I’ve actually tried this. The old one did pretty well at this, too.

The real beauty of this bottle is the cap. It screws into the bottle with a nice, snug seal. In order to poor, you just unscrew the cap a few twists. The cap remains in the bottle because it’s still screwed in, and grooves in the cap help guide the liquid out without any mess. It’s easy to stop pouring without any ill effects.

After using this vacuum bottle for a couple of months, I’m very impressed. I couldn’t recommend a product more highly. As far as I can tell, there’s not a single drawback.
