Pro Line Burr Coffee Grinder

KitchenAidmore product info

Wow! I knew this was going to be good, but I didn’t know how good. I got my grinder last night at about 8:00, and made the mistake of making a cappuccino (with too many coffee grounds since I’m still getting used to the new grinder). While the cappuccino was the best I’ve ever made (it was very tasty), it kept me from sleeping very well.

This morning I made a pot of coffee in my French press using, of course, the coarse setting on the grinder. Wow. It was the best coffee I’d had in a long time.

I’ve read many places that the consistency of the grind is a huge factor in the quality of your coffee, but I didn’t know just how huge until now. I highly recommend this grinder. It is less expensive than many other high-end grinders, and appears to be of a very durable construction. Here are the main advantages as I see them:

Very consistent grind due to high quality burrs and feed mechanism. This makes for a much tastier brew, as well as a much cleaner grinding experience (virtually no dust).
Slow grind speed, which keeps the grounds from overheating and adversely affecting the quality of the brew. Also has the added benefit of being much quieter than the old grinder.
Glass hopper and catcher. The fact that the container that catches the grounds is glass means that there is much less of a problem of static cling. My old grinder would get grounds stuck everywhere which would then fall off at the worst possible moment.
